Getting Ready For Easter

I love to decorate outside for the Holidays and I came across these glittered eggs on picks at the Dollar Tree. $1 a package, the 4 pack are larger eggs & the 10 pack are small.

the kids opened them before i had a chance to take a picture of them
So I made more
What you will need:
  1. Bag of plastic eggs - $1.97 at walmart
  2. Bamboo Skewers - i already had some
  3. Drill Gun - if you don't have one try a screwdriver & hammer

Drill a hole in the bottom of the eggs.
Push your skewer into the hole.

My kids LOVED putting these in the ground :)

The Ester Bunny I made Last Year
And Target had a 6 pack of sequin eggs for $2.50 at the Dollar Spot. My tree needed them :)

Spring Organization

I've been trying to get a little more organized; it's always a project "as you go along." As my collection of tools grow or furnisher pieces to refinish, I have to reorganize. I came across 2 metal shelves at a local thrift store I try to hit up about once a month. They always have good stuff.

One was $11.11 & the other $8.11. I saved myself about $120 bucks!!
My husband claimed them for his detailing supplies.

And I built a place to hang all my tools.
I couldn't resist this piece! A sewing table for $11.11...What!?! Solid wood, she's going to a true beauty when I'm done with her. I still need to get a sewing machine
Look at the details on her.
I've been looking at sewing tables & there about $300-$400!
This is one of my BETTER deals that I've found.

Antique Chair Make Over

I had purchased this chair, along with an antique child's rocking chair off of craigslist a while back for practically nothing. I figured it would be a good practice piece, since I'm new at refinishing furniture.

I finished her off last week & I also got the chance to use my new nail/staple gun, that I purchased with a coupon for $14.99 at Harbor Freight, normally $34.99.
Valspar is giving out FREE paint samples & mine came about two weeks ago. I thought the chair would be a perfect chance to try the paint. Only one paint sample per make it a good one, or send one to three other people you know, like
See those hair line fractures? That's were my little one broke off the top piece. I had to do some miner surgery on her before painting : )
My son chose this blue/gray velvety fabric.

What the seat looked like before
All the springs had come un-done.

I had to glue this piece back together.
And, look what I found again, The roman numerals. Like HERE.

I was going to re-spring the seat, but I had NO idea were to start! So, the next best thing was make a new one out of 1/4" plywood.

Traced it out, and I cut it out along the in-side of the lines with the jig saw.

Made a little hole for this joint.
Nailed it together from the under side.
Filled in the negative space with Polyfill before laying the batting on top of the polyfill.

This is it laid up-side down.
Make sure your fabric lines up on either sides.

Don't mind my chipping nail polish!!

Nailed the fabric down and cut off the excess. I found a really good tutorial on reupholstering seat cushions at Natty by Design
