Dollar Tree Halloween Pinwheels

Halloween is one of our boys favorite holidays and with it falling on a Friday this year we have decided to have a party.
I've chosen a color scheme of black, white, and orange.
When I came across these not so pretty pinwheels at the Dollar Tree I knew they could made into something great!
I found these Trick or Treat coasters as well. I used white coffee filters and black paper streamers to make the centers.
What the pinwheel looks like. Its a sturdy thick paper!

Hot glue the paper streamer to the back of the coaster and than hot glue the coffee filter to the back of the coaster.

Hot glue the whole thing to the pinwheel and you're done.

It's an inexpensive and easy addition to the party décor!

Dollar Tree Wall Bats

When I came across the Bat Cut Outs at the Dollar Tree I couldn't believe it!
I'll have another great Dollar Tree Halloween post next week too!
With a little inspiration and imagination you can tweak Dollar Tree goodies.

I've made some in the past but over the years but they have gotten torn and bent. So 15 of them for a $1 was a score! You could always add more to the collection if you wanted to.

I cut off the little nose on some of them and if you wanted to you could cut off the feet as well.

If you do an accordion fold to the wings it will give them a 3D effect.

I used Sticky Tack for the back and placed them randomly on the wall.

Supper simple and love the look!

Fall Wreath

I'm not a big fan of the bright orange and brown Fall wreaths you see in a lot of stores this time of year and I don't think I will ever get over grape vine wreaths either! I own about six of them and still need more...hehe

I started out by making all the fabric flowers from scrap fabric and yellow burlap. I used YouTube to find a couple videos on how to make them and went with it.

I randomly placed the flowers along the bottom adding some yellow paper flowers from Michael's to fill in some small holes. I didn't want waste a 4" piece of burlap so I turned it into a bow and added a little grey wooden button to the center. It matched perfectly with grey fabric I used!

Here the items I ended up using...minus the wheat on the ends.
1. yellow burlap: Hobby Lobby
2. jute twine
3. small clothes pins: Target $1 spot
4. canvas banner: Hobby Lobby
5. yellow flowers: Michael's $1.50 spot
6. button: Michael's $1.50 spot
7. metal letters: given to me

I hot glued the metal latters to the canvas banner and trimmed them in jute as well to make them pop. Added yellow flowers at the top for a little color.
There you have it!
Simple and fun wreath for Fall.

Dollar Tree 4th of July Decor

I have been on a paper crafting kick lately so when I spotted these cupcake wrappers and picks at the Dollar Tree I knew I would use them for crafting and not backing!
I still need to whitewash the mirror that goes with this dresser. It looks so awful in photos:(

I made the coffee filter wreath to go with it all to help keep it toned down. The best part is all the 4th of July stuff on the wreath is temporary so I can use it year round! Love, Love!

I cut the wrappers into squares and than cut slits into the middle without going all the way to the middle. You will than fold in one corner at a time into the middle until you create a pinwheel.

Put a pin in the middle to hold it all together and I reused the picks I cut off of the flag picks to pin into the wreath with stick tack. Worked like a charm, I can just pull them out when the 4th of July is over.

I even cut down the liners and added them to doilies for another banner.

Love the blue mason jar mugs from Target...scored those for a $1.48 each:)

Reused the little pieces of wrappers to go around a painted can.

I even used up the little pieces triangle from cutting the flag picks down for more mini pinwheels. I don't think I put anything into the trash on this one.

If you accordion fold the liners and glue two of them together you'll get that cute flower shaped paper wheel.
Crazy how many different things I was able to make out of half a package of cupcake wrappers and picks for $1!!
