Handmade Ornaments {Glittered Toilet Paper Rolls & Soup Can Lids}

I have been working around the clock to make handmade gifts this year.

I like to teach my children that a gift can be a little more special if you make it:-)
We used toilet paper rolls and soup can lids to make Christmas ornaments for his teachers.

I put my Martha Stewart glitter set to use this year!
Soup can lids decorated in different colors, one for each of my son's teachers. The kids and I worked on these for about a week. A total of four.

Each teacher received a soup can lid in a box with a large star on top of the box.

Glittered toilet paper rolls, vintage sheet music, and little Christmas embellishment's.

I am SOOO in love with the glittered toilet paper rolls!! I am going to get a head start on these for myself next year. I want to do a more "color" schemed tree next year.
Can you just picture a tree filled with glittered stars!!!

Sorry for the not so good photo's. The good camera is being used AGAIN!

Glittered Acorns

Has anyone started putting their pins to use?

This is one of my pins on my craft board.

{via Etsy}

SOO pretty!!

This is easy to make and the little ones can do it with you:-)

I started by going out to our oak tree behind the house...the boys collected all the acorns.

Use a little Mod Podge on the caps and sprinkle with your glitter color of choice.

I LOVE my Martha Stewart set of 24 glitter!!!

I used cotton balls to fill the insides of the acorns and another thing I used was Halloween spider web leftovers. The spider web stuff gave them a more "needle felt" look as where the cotton is a softer white look.

Place a little glue inside and stuff away!!

I hung them from the branch hanging off of my chandelier.

Pottery Barn Inspired Stick Art

This is a picture I found in the Pottery Barn Christmas catalog 2011.
Notice the birch tree letters saying NOEL? Isn't it fabulous!

I wish we had birch trees in Florida, but cypress branches will have to do.
While at my mothers house two months ago we cut down some cypress bushes and I brought home a pile of branches for Christmas garland and such. The branches made for perfect letter making.

This is what I pieced together.

My husband will be happy to see that the branches I have had on the back porch for a month and a half....GONE!

 Now I just need to add some garland around it and I'll be happy with it:-)
