Welcome to our 2017 Christmas Tour of Homes!
I love this time of the year! I feel like the creative ideas run wild in my head and I love seeing the joy it bring to our home and family! To walk down the sidewalk in our neighborhood and see all of the houses lit up and finish our walk with entering our home all dressed up for Christmas. There's no other holiday that brings that much joy, love, peace and beauty than Christmas.
I started crafting and decorating early this year to save money on decorating. Most of my décor I purchase after Christmas when everything goes on sale for 75% off!
I LOVE traditional color like red and green outside but I like a more natural and rustic look inside.
I have small touches of red inside on some signs and banners but kept it very natural and white for the most part.
I knew I wanted to make a shelf for this little ceramic house that belonged to my husbands grandmother and make it stand out! You can find how I made the shelf HERE!
There are mixtures of natural materials like wood, pinecones, tree logs and birch. Along with glittery silver ornaments for an elegant, rustic feel!
I wanted to incorporate more vintage Christmas colors in the dining room. It all started with finding the red ticking stipe banner and sign from the Target Dollar spot that set the feel of the dining room.
I made these mini wreaths for .60 Cents each and you can find the tutorial HERE
I set up a little cocoa bar area in the dining room so the kids can go grab some hot chocolate and marshmallows.
I knew half way through this year that I wanted to make a Christmas Trees For Sale sign & have a little tree forest set up on our buffet table. The envision was to have twinkling lights hanging down from above it and I made the ladder out of branches from our backyard! Free! By streaming the lights through the ladder, it gave them depth and it turned out exactly how I wanted it!
Hope you enjoyed my Christmas Home Tour and make sure to go check out these other talented bloggers homes all done up for Christmas!

Hi Desiree...
ReplyDeleteWow...I don't know where to start. I love the unexpected touches, like the "joy' made out of twigs...I feel I could wander your home for days and find little hidden treasures. Brilliant and Fun are the words to describe your 'tree farm' vignette...from the light filled ladder to the sign and then the tree display. I can only imagine the wonder your boys feel in your home this time of year.
Well done my new friend.
Hugs, Lynn
